Molecular Plant Breeding

We use molecular and phytopathological methods to analyse the interaction of crops with pathogens and important phenotypic traits in ornamental plants. The genetic mapping and characterization of resistance genes against potato wart disease and potato cyst nematodes are the focus of research in crops. Analyses on the interaction of roses with the pathogens causing black spot, powdery and downy mildew are, in addition to studies on the colour characteristic of poinsettia the focus in ornamental plants.
